Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 4, 2026 · Last updated: August 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pangea Tech LLC ("Pangea Tech LLC", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use the RunnersHigh mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App"). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
1.1 Information you provide directly
- Account information: name, email address, username, profile photo, and password (or sign-in credentials if you use a third-party sign-in provider such as Apple or Google).
- Profile and social content: friend connections, messages, challenge invitations, and any content you choose to share on your profile, feed, or with friend groups.
- Support communications: information you provide when you contact us for support, including the contents of your message and contact details.
- Photos and camera content: if you choose to upload a profile photo, or use the in-app camera to scan a gym machine display to log a workout, we access your camera or photo library only with your permission and only for that purpose.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Run and activity data: GPS location, route, distance, pace, speed, elevation, duration, and timestamps for each run you record.
- Device information: device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, language settings, and mobile network information.
- Usage data: features you interact with, session length, crash logs, and diagnostic information that helps us improve the App.
- Push notification tokens: used to deliver reminders, friend activity alerts, and other notifications you have enabled.
2. Location Permissions
RunnersHigh uses your device's location services to record your runs, calculate distance and pace, and display your route on a map. We request the following location permissions:
- While Using the App: used to track your run in real time while the App is open.
- Background / Always: used only during an active run so that tracking continues accurately if you lock your screen or switch apps, and to power Live Activity / Dynamic Island updates on supported devices.
You can grant, change, or revoke location permissions at any time through your device's system settings. If you deny or revoke location access, core run-tracking features will not function correctly, but you may still be able to use other parts of the App. We do not collect background location data outside of an active, user-initiated run.
3. Health and Fitness Data
Run data such as distance, pace, duration, route, elevation, and (where applicable) heart rate collected from a connected device is treated as sensitive fitness information. This data is used to:
- Calculate your run statistics, streaks, and progression;
- Power features like personal records, race predictions, and achievements;
- Generate insights about your training over time.
We do not sell your health or fitness data. Where the App integrates with platform health services (such as Apple Health), data is only read from or written to those services with your explicit permission, and you can disconnect this integration at any time in your device settings.
4. Analytics
RunnersHigh does not currently use third-party analytics services. If the App crashes, Apple may share anonymized diagnostic and crash data with us through App Store Connect, based on the diagnostic and usage data sharing permission you've set in your device's Privacy settings. This data is provided to us in aggregate or anonymized form and is used solely to identify and fix bugs. If we begin using additional analytics or crash-reporting tools in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.
5. Third-Party Services
RunnersHigh relies on the following categories of third-party service providers to operate the App:
- Cloud infrastructure and database: we use Supabase to store account data, run history, and social features securely.
- Push notifications: platform notification services (Apple Push Notification service) are used to deliver alerts you have opted into.
- Sign-in providers: if you choose to sign in with Apple, Google, or another third-party provider, that provider will process your authentication credentials in accordance with its own privacy policy.
- Crash reporting: Apple's built-in diagnostic reporting, as described in Section 4 above.
These third parties only receive the information necessary to perform their function and are contractually or contractually- equivalently required to protect your information.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information and run data for as long as your account remains active — your run history, streaks, and progress are kept indefinitely so you never lose them, for as long as you keep using RunnersHigh. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain information for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Request deletion of your account and associated data;
- Export a copy of your data in a portable format;
- Withdraw consent for optional data uses (e.g. notifications, camera access) at any time;
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data, where applicable law provides this right.
You can exercise most of these rights directly within the App under Settings, or by contacting us using the details in Section 9. We will respond to verified requests within the timeframe required by applicable law.
7.1 Children's Privacy
RunnersHigh is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required by your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
7.2 International Users
If you access the App from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. We take reasonable steps to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice.
